I'm not sure what country you live in Pelador, but the one I live in is clearly diffrent.

If they really wanted to do good, they wouldn't cut police numbers or add compertition to the NHS.

I could list a number of things this current government has done that has done more harm than good, their intentions in this case aren't good, they are ideas born out of paranoia.

Not to mention a lot of politicians have commited fraud.

Good intentions? No, it's a waste of money and could lead to abuse of power.

Final question Pelador, do you mind if I come round to your house and read all your post envolopes? Maybe look through all your boxes and draws? I'll let myself in and out whenever I like, don't worry, you have nothing to hide right?

I'll also have to ask for payment for visiting you, time is money.

I wouldn't mind that. It'd be fun to have a friend around.

That's the other thing- there's a big difference between "having nothing to hide", and "not doing anything illegal". Plenty of people do things that they don't want others to know about, most of which are legal. The government has no business keeping track of such things, nor do I fully trust them to respect peoples' privacy either.

Scenario- suppose an opposition candidate views adult content on his personal home computer (perfectly legal, not using government equipment). The incumbent candidate finds this out and leaks it. Chances are the opposition candidate would lose some votes for this. Does anyone trust the government not to do this sort of thing? I sure don't.

I wouldn't be a friend, I'd be working for the government or the police.
